Bivalva was born to recognize the value of a process that has always been there, but has rarely received the attention it deserves.

A physical, intimate, and also social process. A transformation that occurs in the body, but speaks of something much broader: of origin, of continuity, of creation, and of the way a society views those who make it possible.

For too long, this moment has been treated from the outside: with functional garments, predictable codes, and an aesthetic that has rarely lived up to what it represents.

Bivalva starts from a different perspective.

We are not here to explain the process.
We are here to acknowledge it.

To make it visible without simplifying it.
To dress it without demeaning it.
To look at it with the strength, precision, and respect it deserves.

Our first garment is born from this conviction: an adaptable, carefully crafted, and durable piece, designed to accompany the body before, during, and after the change. A garment with longevity, conceived to remain beyond a specific stage.

Bivalva was created by Lucía Martínez from a clear intuition: there was an overdue conversation. A conversation about the value of this process, about the woman going through it, and about how clothing can acknowledge a transformation without turning it into a disguise, an exception, or a minor category.

We believe in well-made garments, responsible materials, and limited productions. In a solid, clean, and understated aesthetic. In clothing that accompanies without imposing, that adapts without disappearing, and that speaks without needing to emphasize everything.

Bivalva does not idealize change.
It acknowledges it.

It acknowledges the body in transformation.
It acknowledges the value of an intimate process with a collective dimension.
It acknowledges the woman who remains herself while everything changes.

Because this process already had strength.
What was missing was a way to make it visible.
